Pick Yourself Up & Try Again

A wise person once told me when a person is down on their luck it is our responsibility to help them find their way again. Recently we had a resident by the name of Scarface, who had a great job in Florida as a Warehouse Manager. His company asked him to move to New Mexico to work at another branch they owned. He took the opportunity, hoping it would allow him to move up in the company. After working one month for the New Mexico branch he was laid off due to lack of funds.

He found himself jobless as well as homeless for the first time in his life. He needed a place to stay until he got back on his feet. He called around town, and found the Metropolitan Homelessness Project he was able to get a bed the first night he called. Once he arrived at MHP he was provided housing and job information that helped him landed a great job for a local company. He was able to save up money during his stay at MHP as well look around town for housing. He exited MHP with a home waiting for him, before he left he thanked the staff by saying he wouldn’t have been able to get back on his feet without the help of the Metropolitan Homelessness Project.
