Mission
Metropolitan Homelessness Project seeks to end homelessness, on both individual and societal levels, through a unified voice of advocacy, prevention and service.
We do this through four programs:
- New Mexico Community Voice Mail – free, personal voice mail for all.
- Albuquerque Opportunity Center – a men’s overnight emergency shelter.
- VetTRAN – a transitional housing program for male veterans.
- Respite Care Program – 24-hour bed rest for men in need.
In 5 years of operation, the AOC shelter has provided over 143,500 nights of shelter to over 5,000 men–over 1,500 of whom exited into safe, affordable housing. In the past two years, we have served over 500 women, youth and men with voice mail. This is often the key as a point of contact for jobs and housing.
